APRIL 3: FANDOM APRIL FOOLS

Three days ago, April Fools Day 2015 was on the calendar. Of course, the Hunger Games Fandom was full of pranks and laughter... let's enter the arena, of April Fools Day.

THGAustralia started off the day, with the shocking news that the cast was going to visit 11 different countries for the Mockingjay - Part 2 Promotion. They're posted started off like this:

"According to a press release sent out today by Lionsgate, the cast of Mockingjay – Part 2 will embark on a global press tour called the ‘Mockingjay Global Experience’ to promote the film ahead of its November release. The cast will walk a special red carpet event that will lead up to an exclusive clip reveal from each stop on the tour, find out details on which cities and cast members will be on the Mockingjay Global Experience."

I mean, who wouldn't believe this? I screamed so loud. 11 new clips, everyone! 11 NEW CLIPS!
THEN MY HEART WAS CRUSHED: I REALIZED IT WAS APRIL 1ST IN AUSTRALIA! 

"UPDATE: We made this post on April the 1st, which meant, you guessed it… April Fools! We’re sorry if we played with your emotions, we just had to. But that does mean everything below is false, including the image of the tweet which never existed in the first place. We still have our fingers crossed for an actual global press tour at the end of the year to celebrate Mockingjay – Part 2, though. But nothing has been confirmed by Lionsgate at this time. But to clarify: the ‘Mockingjay Global Experience’ was a hoax."

Amazing prank! We loved it. The best part? Different media outlets actually reported this -- thinking it was real! No name's here, but it truly was VERY clever!

Then, Quarter Quell. Oh, Quarter Quell: The fansite that gave us a hard attack. 

It was about 7:00PM, and I was sitting down on my laptop, waiting for a Lionsgate announcement that Quarter Quell teased us about. 

Then, my Twitter said (1) and I clicked it, and that's when, the first tear fell. 

BREAKING: THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2 DELAYED TO MARCH 26, 2016 TO CELEBRATE 'FOUR YEARS OF THE HUNGER GAMES'

Now for those who are like, "You would really believe this," or "I wouldn't," the ARTICLE WAS SO REAL! Press releases, this and that. And it all made sense! Big movies coming out this year, it's the fourth movie in the fourth year, but it really was convincing. I was very amazed. While the post was deleted, it was VERY VERY clever of them! The fandom on the other hand did NOT take this well! Even after Quarter Quell said it was just a joke, the fandom -- including myself -- was still in shock! I really, really thought this was true, so once again -- amazing job!

Okokokokokokokok #AprilFools ended for us 21 minutes ago...so time to get back to real, trustworthy news and info! 😃 Business as usual...

Jabberjays.net didn't go with the, "Make the fandom start a revolution" way, but the insanely funny way!

The first article, titled "Gale Hawthrone to Sport Shocking Blonde Hairdo in 'Mockingjay - Part 2,' caused a mixed reaction to Gale with blonde hair!

Tributes on Team Gale will no doubt be shaking their heads today as news dropped that Gale Hawthorne, hero of Star Squad 451, has been spotted in District 13 sporting what can only be described as an “Easter Yellow” dye job on his previously dark brown hair.

I loved this, but the next joke by Jabberjays.net was even better! "Vine Announces Cressida As A New Company Spokes Person," was the funniest of all! 

“She’s just the perfect person to carry our company’s brand message,” said Vine’s co-founder Colin Kroll. “She already had something similar on display on that spanking half-bald head of hers, so really the change wasn’t all that big for her.”

Very clever! To confirm: No, Gale is not going blonde.

Down With The Capitol, I don't know what to say.  Caution: There is a slight spoiler! 

We hate to begin the day with such sad news, but word has just come via Lionsgate that Josh Hutcherson will no longer be joining in the filming for that last and most anticipated scene from the epilogue of Mockingjay Part 2. Why will the shoot be Peetaless? Well the answer may seem like such a nitpicky thing for us tributes, but it obviously wasn’t to Josh.

I promise it's a joke! But, for those who were reading the article, they used a creative way to let fans know it was joke. Did you noticed the bold letters? Well, throught the whole post, the letters spelled the famous 4 words from Mockingjay:

REAL OR NOT REAL. 

This was an amazingly cool idea!

Did you solve our little bolded word puzzle in the text below? Is this news “Real or Not Real?” Not Real! April Fools! Josh is still scheduled to shoot later this spring/summer for the Mockingjay Part 2 Epilogue and we’re sure he’ll be Peeta blonde in one way or another. :) Thanks to everyone who had as much fun with this as we did today!

We created a post that said that MOCKINGJAY - PART 2 was going... get ready... to be split into two more films! It was so fun to come up with it and to see the reactions of our fans!

Here's a glimpse from it:

Lionsgate has notified all fan sites for The Hunger Games that The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 will be split in to two short films with two separate release dates. 

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, set to be released on November 20, 2015, will be released in two separate parts. The date of the split will occur near the FOUR YEARS OF THE HUNGER GAMES anniversary on March 25, 2016. 

In asking if this is an April Fool's Joke, Lionsgate kindly responded: We are going to be splitting the films as we wish to make the series' finale different than other series. It is not a bad thing, but it something we feel will increase the popularity of the films! Not to mention, there are plenty of places to split in Mockingjay - Part 2.

Let's just say, we couldn't keep it up 5 minutes without people freaking out... and I mean, who wouldn't!?!?!?! AND GUESS WHAT? The post itself got over 600+ views! It's not in our POPULAR POST list due to us taking it down from there.
