"Tim Palen: Photographs from The Hunger Games," hits shelves at Assouline bookstores and on Assouline.com today. The book, which is also available for purchase at The Hunger Games: The Exhibition and on Amazon for $15 cheaper, includes never before seen photographs as well as different character portraits.

While you can read more information on the book HERE, we've purchased the book and will be providing a review below!

REVIEW

The book itself is just beautiful. Actually, I'm sorry wrong word: GORGEOUS. They haven't been showing us everything, and when I tell you that what hasn't been shown is for a reason, I mean it.

First off, The book is HUGE. The book itself is over 250 pages.

The book is divided into four sections.

THE 74TH HUNGER GAMES: In this section, we see portraits from The Hunger Games, that we've known about, while we get a different touch of portraits in District 12 that we haven't seen and some up close ones. It was quite interesting to see the character's growth in the series. You can see the difference between some of the major characters from the first movie to Mockingjay - Part 2. One of my favorite portraits is of Rue, which is to the right.

THE QUARTER QUELL: Peackeepers, volcanoes (I think...) and fake weddings, all are provided in this section.. and even more. This section includes portraits from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, including every character in the movie. I love the touch of detail and the hint of revolution, especially because Catching Fire is my favorite movie. There's some really crazy shots in here, it's quite amazing!

THE MOCKINGJAY LIVES: Yes, it's true.. indeed! The Mockingjay Lives. This collection of portraits come from Mockingjay - Part 1. We get a new look at some of our favorite characters and a look at different collections. We also see the beautiful photographs for the character posters that were released last year in August. If you look to the left, you can see one of the pictures we see of Johanna. *cries* Overall, this was a very nice look at Mockingjay - Part 1, and get's me even more excited for...

THE REVOLUTION: We're yet to get more than 3 stills for Mockingjay - Part 2, but these portraits are simply amazing. The Sister Portrait and that picture of Effie all tag along with Mockingjay - Part 2, but there's so much more. We get a look at Peeta after he's been hijacked and you can see it in his face, his eyes -- it made me cry. Not to mention, this is the real war movie. You can see a shift. Everyone in Mockingjay - Part 1 is ready to fight, and that's the same for Part 2, but you see more of the emotional toll, and one picture of someone who really shows it... On the bright side, there may be a hint of some character posters we can expect in the future including multiple people that we haven't seen yet.... And Effie... is absolutely loving District 13 now that she has her outfits! The sad thing about the Part 2 section is that we don't see the new characters. I want to see Annie, Lyme and Homes. Most likely, we'll see them in the edition of the book
being released closer to Part 2.  Stay tuned on that...

To conclude, this is a BEAUTIFUL look at the series and is worth $75!
