"Mockingjay: Burn," a The Hunger Games short film set to debut on Tuesday, May 12, is directed by Leo Kei-Angelos and focuses on Katniss Everdeen and her fight in the rebellion.

You may remember that last summer, director Leo Kei-Angelos and Kristen Brancaccio, released the a trailer for the upcoming short film.

'Mockingjay: Burn' is a Hunger Games inspired short film based on a militarized Katniss & the District 13 rebellion. Mockingjay: Burn will show Katniss' life as the mockingjay symbol of District 13's rebellion juxtaposed with glimpses of the Capitol's extravagant lifestyles. We aim to create a short film stylistically reminiscent of District 9 that provides a gritty, more realistic depiction of war, while at the same time staying true to the characters, relationships and events in Mockingjay. We LOVE the official movies, but we want to realize our own vision of Suzanne Collins' universe because we're die-hard fans of the books! This is a fan film and is not affiliated with Lionsgate or Suzanne Collins.
The film, set to debut on Tuesday, is expected to be 12 minutes long and will feature Katniss, Peeta and Gale! We're so excited for the film's release.

As mentioned below, the film will be based off of some chapters in Mockingjay. With 7 months left until Mockingjay - Part 2, here is a chance to see someone else's idea of what the film(s) could look like!
The story will focus on Katniss's involvement in District 13's war efforts, with a glimpse of fancy Capitol life thrown into the mix. Scenes will be directly inspired by some chapters of "Mockingjay", but we're confident our vision will still surprise fans!
The video will be uploaded on Leo's YouTube page, which you can visit HERE.
