MAR 7: Mockingjay - Part 1 on DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital HD

Mockingjay - Part 1 hit shelves in the United States yesterday and thanks to Lionsgate, we've gotten the opportunity to preview all editions of the film! We are BEYOND excited, so we would like to help you all and tell you which edition of the film is the best.

DVD EDITIONS: 

On all editions, meaning Blu-Ray and DVD copies -- regardless of the provider -- include trailers. A full list of the trailers are below:

On the DVD, Blu-Ray and Different Provider Disks, the DVD Menu starts off with Unity, and Beetee interrupting with his famous, "This is a pirate transmission from District 13," line. Then, the beautiful choir signing from 'The Hanging Tree' is played with scenes from the movie. In the end, you can see the logo transformation from Catching Fire to Mockingjay - Part 1. • TARGET EXCLUSIVE EDITION: The Target Exclusive Edition is amazing! It's really like a book... literally! It includes binding and four quotes from the movies. I loved it. It also includes Blu-Ray disk, DVD disk and a Digital Code for a Digital Copy. ON TOP OF THAT, you get four Target Exclusive behind-the-scene videos!
• BEST BUY STEELBOOK EDITION: Includes both Blu-Ray Copy, DVD and Digital Copy. 
• WALMART EXCLUSIVE EDITION: BUYERS WARNING: While Wal-Mart does have the regular DVD with all features of the DVD, the Blu-Ray edition from Mockingjay - Part 1 does not have any Blu-Ray features except the Commentary and Insurgent Sneak Peek. The only difference is the cover. 

In conclusion, if you want special features, stick with either the Blu-Ray Edition, Target Exclusive Edition or Best Buy Steelbook Edition. If not, the other option is the DVD from any store or the 'Walmart Edition.' 

'Mockingjay - Part 1' has recently made it's home entertainment debut on digital platforms such as VUDU, iTunes and Google Play. While today marks 3 months since the theatrical debut of the film, we've decided to review the 'Digital HD' service and once again, the film. Let us remind you that everything included on the 'Digital HD' service will be included on the Blu - Ray disk, which we have described below.

Mockingjay - Part 1 (Film Review)

RATING: ★★★★☆ (4.8/5) = 96% (A) 

Mockingjay - Part 1 is a beautiful film. The film may seem slow at times due to lack of action -- not like the other movies -- but the whole purpose of the film is definitely to heat everybody up for the second film, in which EVERYTHING (and we mean everything) happens. I would still give it 4.5/5 stars. My suggestions: Breaking away from Katniss. While we all need a little Katniss in our lives, it would be nice to see some of the districts. We spend too much time with Katniss while she is sad.. and sorry, I don't like a sad Katniss, because a sad Katniss means a sad Life in District 13. Overall, it is an A+. Also, MORE CAPITOL POV! 

SPECIAL FEATURE: "THE MOCKINGJAY LIVES: MAKING OF THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 1"

RATING: ★★★★☆ (4.8/5) = 96% (A) 

If I should be completely honest, this behind the scenes documentary was just simply amazing! The only suggestion I have is behind the scenes on the Marketing, etc. For example, the making of the Capitol.PN or @TheHungerGames. I thought it would be awesome to see that, but I was disappointed to see it wasn't. Overall, still, an A+. Very interesting and I suggest it to all! 

SPECIAL FEATURE: DELETED SCENES

RATING: ★★★★☆ (4.9/5) = 98% (A+) 

Katniss and Boggs Walk in District 13: Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) = 100% (A+) 
I thought this scene was just so beautiful and amazing to see new life in District 13. I would give an A+. If they did show it, I would hope to keep the same music, called, "The Mockingjay," which is played during the first part in the movie. A+, A+, A+! 

 Where it would've gone? Before Katniss sees Coin/Plutarch.

Katniss Leaves District 12: Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) = 100% (A+) 
Where would they put it? It was a wonderful scene, but where could they have put it? I think putting it after Snow's Speech would have been OK, but the transitions are just amazing during this sequence from Katniss Sees the Rose to Snow's Speech to District 13. I would just love to see where it would've gone. If it did go after Snow's Speech, that would be okay, but... ugh so confusing! 

Where it would've gone? Before Katniss goes back to District 13, after Snow's Speech. 

Beetee Reaches District 8: Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) = 100% (A+) 
They took this out...why? I thought it was amazing. A+ times 1,000. Where it would've gone? Before the meeting with Haymitch, Coin and Prep. 

I'm Not Asking: Rating: ★★★★ (4.5/5) = 90% (A-) This was a nice scene, but it gives away too much.. It gives away too early that the Capitol is using Peeta. Maybe they could of talked about the Quarter Quell instead? And we wished for MORE PEETA/SNOW/JOHANNA!! 

Where it would've gone? After Peeta's First Speech. 

Hummingbirds: Rating: ★★★★ (4.5/5) = 90% (A-) 

This is a beautiful scene. It would've gone great in the movie, though. More conversation from Plutarch on the rebellion though? 

Where it would've gone? Before Beetee shows weapons. 

Face of a Revolution: Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) = 100% (A+) Funny! 

Where it would've gone?Before Katniss does fake Propo. 

We're Still in the Games: Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) = 100% (A+) 
Beautiful scene!

Where it would've gone? After Katniss does fake Propo. 

Snow Sees Propo: Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) = 100% (A+) 
Really, really sick and interesting. Where it would've gone? 

After Katniss sees Propo from District 8.

Cressida Preps Gale/Katniss: Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) = 100% (A+) 
Interesting... I liked it. 

Where it would've gone? Before District 12 Visit #2. 

SPECIAL FEATURE: STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART, A TRIBUTE TO PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN (PLUTARCH)
